Responsibilities

 

  • Delivering effective and efficient day-to-day operations taking account of customer needs and available resources.
  • Provide engaging and empowering leadership to ensure the operations team are motivated to deliver against the site plans.
  • Lead and develop functional managers to maximise performance and efficiency within corresponding departments. Set clear objectives for reporter's to deliver against.
  • Play a key role in the management of health & safety & environmental for the site.
  • Specify and agree operational service levels, considering service objectives and priorities.
  • Resolve short-term conflicts in priorities and ensure longer-term problems are raised with more senior management.
  • Lead within specific parameters/professional guidelines to support informed decision making and delegated responsibility for projects/budgets to support the achievement of objectives.
  • Develop specifications for project implementation, where appropriate
  • Work closely with the sales team to ensure continuity of consistent product and to understand customer requirement.
  • Prepare regular reports on systems, service, and performance, including analysis, interpretation and recommendations for action, where appropriate.
  • Drive continuous improvement projects through all operational departments that reduce complexity and optimise efficiency.
  • Collaborate with the HR lead to manage employee relations across the site.

Qualifications

 

  • Proven communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Management experience in a 24-hour production environment.
  • Proven ability to analyse and solve a wide range of practical problems with people, service performance and development.
  • Graduate calibre or equivalent experience.
  • Strong stakeholder management.
  • Understanding of polymer manufacturing is desirable.
